Customized Training Content

QTS prides itself on creating and delivering supervisory and management training that “fits” your people and your environment. And we’ll only recommend a plan that is within your budget, time and operational constraints.

“Cookie cutter” training solutions for organizational leaders just don’t work very well. Every organization’s culture is unique. Values differ. And, of course, different industries have their own special set of demands. One size simply does not fit all.

QTS has years of experience designing and developing supervisory/management training materials to fit a client’s specific needs. We will tailor content. We will create company-specific examples, case studies, and skill practice exercises.

Some examples . . .

  • a “hands-on” delegation exercise for supervisors in a heavy manufacturing environment
  • a specially written set of employee coaching situations faced by managers in an electronics plant
  • company-specific skill practice checklists for managers’ use conducting performance reviews
  • templates for hiring managers to create an “ideal candidate profile”
  • requiring participants’ supervisors to attend a final session so participants’ “action plans” are understood and supported back on the job

When developing these supervisory/management skills solutions, QTS consistently follows a learner-centered approach. Participants are actively involved in their own learning, not listening passively to a “talking head”.

Sometimes training is NOT the answer
There are times, when assessing a client’s “training” needs, we discover the most effective intervention is not training at all, but something else – e.g. process improvements, fixing the reward system, coaching an individual manager, improving team functioning, or changing hiring practices.

That’s another advantage of working with QTS. We will suggest the “performance solution” that best addresses the performance gap.

Our QTS business values of professionalism and integrity do not allow us to do anything else. We simply will not recommend training when it’s not the best solution. Over the years, we have learned that clients appreciate that honesty and, more often than not, they elect to take our recommended course of action.
