Typically, the leader being coached and his/her supervisor first agree upon the job performance goals to be addressed. These become the coaching goals, which drive what happens in each coaching session.
The QTS Coach schedules sessions at regular intervals. Each session begins with a printed agenda and ends with specific assignments for the leader to work on until the next session. Sessions typically run 1-1½ hours, though the initial meeting typically requires two hours.
Experience has proven that an initial series of six coaching sessions works best to determine value from the coaching process. Then, any number of additional sessions may be scheduled, based on mutual ongoing evaluation of the leader’s progress.
